Pemex is expected to see investments in exploration and production of 270 billion pesos ($14.1 billion) in 2019, a 38% increase in real terms from 2018, under the administration of Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
“This intense exploration activity will allow for the incorporation and reclassification of new reserves and reverse the decline in recent years,” chief executive Octavio Romero Oropeza told attendees at last week's Mexican Petroleum Congress in Leon, Guanajuato.
