In mid-February, Genie’s 86.9%-owned subsidiary Afek Oil & Gas spudded the first exploration well, Ness-5, of up to 10 planned probes on its acreage in the Golan Heights, east of the Sea of Galilee.
Ness-5 was sidetracked to a depth of about 1400 metres in April before a Viking Services-owned rig spudded and completed second well, Ness-3, in licence 397 in June.
