Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) in the third quarter will release the first data from its 3D seismic megasurvey off Ghana, covering 24,000 square kilometres from the eastern flank of the Tano basin through the Saltpond basin off central Ghana to the Keta basin abutting the Togo maritime boundary.
In addition to focusing on the proven Upper Cretaceous oil plays of the Tullow Oil-operated Jubilee and Twenboa-Enyenra-Ntomme (TEN) fields, the survey delineates multiple undrilled stacked turbidite channel and fan systems and uncovers Tertiary and Upper Cretaceous potential in the frontier Keta and Saltpond basins where exploration has been neglected.
