Ghana's Energy Minister John Peter Amewu has said the government intends to revise its National Energy Policy (NEP) to ensure “optimal long-term petroleum resource utilisation to attract needed investment and streamline regulations to enhance efficiencies”, writes Barry Morgan.

Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia told an oil conference in Accra this week that the existing Accelerated Oil & Gas Exploration Development Plan is essential in promoting transparency and predictability in the upstream sector, but the NEP needs revision to ensure an adequate regulatory framework is in place to properly utilise petroleum revenues.
