The huge steel hull of the Gjoa platform arrived early this month at the Stord yard of engineering, procurement and construction contractor Aker after a month and a half tow from fabricator Samsung’s yard in South Korea. The 14,200- tonne hull will now receive its 20,000-tonne topsides on a schedule aiming for start-up at the field in October next year.
