The Santos-led Gladstone liquefied natural gas (GLNG) project in Australia has received government approval to proceed with the full-field development of its feedstock coalbed methane gas fields onshore Queensland.
The approval by Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt covers the drilling of an additional 6100 production wells in the Surat and Bowen basins.
It also enables the installation of associated production facilities like gas and water pipeline gathering, water management and waste management, and gas treatment and compression facilities.
