Sources told upstream that drilling giants Transocean and Ensco submitted bids in July, following a tender earlier this year.
Some sources suggested that international drilling contractor Seadrill is also believed to have submitted a bid.
However, sources tipped Transocean as the frontrunner, as it currently has two drillships working with Reliance and is on good terms with the operator.
