Norway’s Prime Minister Erna Solberg sought to defend her beleaguered energy minister midweek, though her comments were not expected to silence critics who accuse the government of misinforming parliament on the troubled Goliat oilfield project in the Barents Sea, writes Ole Ketil Helgesen.
Solberg told the country’s parliament that the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) did not have updated figures about the financial performance of the Goliat project, and to get such information the NPD would have had to contact field operator Eni.
