Green for go on plans for Sakhalin LNG plant

Rosneft’s executive chairman Igor Sechin and ExxonMobil Development’s president Neil Duffin signed an agreement to extend their existing strategic agreement on implementation of the Far East LNG project.

Both companies announced they will pay for engineering surveys on land and sea during the summer of 2014.

Conceptual design has been completed and the characteristics of the LNG plant defined, Rosneft said. Two potential sites for the LNG plant on Sakhalin Island have been identified and the preferred gas liquefaction technology has been chosen.
