Freeport-McMoRan Energy vice president David Landry said he is looking for licence approval to come sometime in the second half of 2005, leading to the official Record of Decision from the Coast Guard by the end of the year.
The project is centred on converting an existing complex of bridge-linked platforms located 37 miles (60 kilometres) east of Venice, Louisiana, to service an integrated LNG receiving facility.
