“The Russian platform is set to be the first to try to commercially produce offshore Arctic oil anywhere on the planet,” said Greenpeace.
“Make no mistake — the Russian oil industry is not one to be trusted,” the pressure group added, implying that onshore oil spills are occurring frequently in the country.
The activists stayed on a sidewall of the platform for 15 hours, before coming down safely to their speedboats, Greenpeace said.
