Just as Chevron was patting itself on the back for the start-up of its long-delayed carbon capture and storage project at the Gorgon liquefied natural gas complex, the US supermajor found itself at the centre of a climate change protest.

Hundreds of protesters descended on Chevron Australia’s headquarters in the West Australian capital Perth last week.

Organised by the National Union of Students, the rally against climate change saw protestors march on the streets towards the QV1 building where they were greeted by a heavy police presence.
