A CO2 data well has been drilled and a major study of the sub-surface is under way, says the CO2CRC research institute in Australia. It is understood that most activity is centred on building the re-injection facilities and putting in place the appropriate legislation.
All government approvals have been granted, and a contract has been awarded to GE Oil & Gas for the injection units.
