Two bidding groups are awaiting a decision by France’s authorities on the award of exploration permits covering prospective acreage off the Scattered Islands in East Africa’s Mozambique Channel.
This archipelago, which includes the Europa island and the Bassas de India atoll, is a French overseas dependency located between Madagascar and Mozambique and directly south of Juan de Nova, another dependency of France.
