The autumn of 2011 was a gloomy period for Maersk Oil in the UK as it picked up the pieces from the near disastrous events of February that year when Gryphon A came off station in heavy storms, severely damaging parts of the vessel and wrecking the subsea infrastructure.
Following lengthy repairs, a corner was turned when limited production got back under way a few months ago, initially from the Tullich and Maclure fields.
