GUANGZHOU Gas, the dominant gas supplier in southern China’s Guangzhou city, is in talks with Canada’s Woodfibre LNG over a possible liquefied natural gas terminal deal, writes Xu Yihe.

The arrangement would involve Woodfibre farming in to a minor stake in the facility that Guangzhou Gas plans to build in the Nansha island area.

Industry officials said on the sidelines of an industry gathering in Beijing last week that Guangzhou is keen to further its partnership with Woodfibre, with which it has already signed a memorandum of understanding to import 1 million tonnes of LNG for 25 years.
