The Gumusut-Kakap production semisub was handed over from Pasir Gudang-based Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering to Shell in early June, following its load-out from the Pasir Gudang yard around mid-May.
The floating production structure was loaded out onthe Dockwise heavy-lift vessel Blue Marlin and underwent sea trials before beingwet-towed to field location by Posh Terasea tugs, Salvanguard, Salviscount andTerasea Falcon. A fourth vessel suppliedby Posh, the Salviceroy, served as an escort tug through the 1307 kilometrevoyage.
