The company's annual production capacity is 240,000 tonnes from four existing plants in Sichuan, Hebei and Fujian provinces and Beijing.
The new facilities in Hunan and Chongqing, together with new or expanded plants in Beijing and Shanghai, will enable it to boost output to 400,000 tonnes per annum by the end of 2008.
Gushan, which produces its biodiesel mainly from vegetable oil, offal, used cooking oil and by-products from biodiesel production, including glycerine, plant asphalt, erucic acid and erucic amide, sells its fuels directly to customers including marine vessel operators.
