ExxonMobil’s prolific Stabroek block has been firmly in the news in recent days after the US supermajor increased its estimated recoverable resource base off Guyana.
It has not all been welcome news, however, after a New York Times article drew a stinging rebuke from some quarters over its portrayal of the South American nation and questioned Guyana’s ability to handle the oil wealth set to come its way.
