Halliburton admitted health and safety failures that led to the injuries suffered by a truck driver at the company’s Clyde facility, just outside Aberdeen, in March 2014.

The Aberdeen Sheriff Court described the unloading operations, which the worker was contracted to handle, as “inherently dangerous”, but reduced the initial fine of £15,000 due to the early plea of guilty.

Halliburton said that it “takes all matters of health and safety very seriously and has taken immediate steps to increase management oversight during deliveries, as well as to update procedures to ensure the safest work areas possible for both employees and visitors”.
