The deal continues a pattern of heightened consolidation in the services sector and follows announcements of the planned combinations of Baker Hughes and BJ Services as well as Schlumberger and Smith International.
Following completion of the transaction, Halliburton will launch a new product service line to include Halliburton’s existing coiled tubing and hydraulic workover operations and Boots & Coots’ intervention services and pressure controls business.
