A Halliburton spokeswoman confirmed the company’s hiring plans, saying the positions will be based in the Texas towns of Odessa and Brownfield, as well as Artesia, New Mexico.

The areas where Halliburton is looking to boost its workforce include artificial lift, cementing, completion tools, drillbits and service, testing and subsea.

Halliburton has reduced its global headcount by around 40% since the industry downturn began in late 2014.
