Ashti Hawrami, the veteran oil minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), has lost his post in the new administration but been given the powerful role of energy advisor to the new prime minister of Iraq’s autonomous region.
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani last week formed his Cabinet without naming a replacement for Hawrami who had led the Ministry of Natural Resources since 2006.
