The company has increased output at the Castilla complex from 20,000 bpd to 62,000, employing nafta as a diluent for transportation purposes, and is chasing a target for 90,000 bpd next year.
The project offered leverage for producing heavy oil on a much larger scale in the Llanos region, and exploring for heavy oil in the much larger Cano Sur block, east of Castilla.
