Construction work on the 1300-tonne topsides and 1450-tonne jacket will begin in April and the platform is expected to be installed early next year ahead of production start-up later in the year.
The unmanned platform, sitting in 43 metres of water, will be tied back to Centrica’s Easington gas terminal via a 34-kilometre 16-inch pipeline.
Heerema Hartlepool, one of three fabrication facilities belonging to Netherlands-based Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG), is already working on another Centrica project, the 1100-tonne Ensign platform.
