State-controlled Brazilian oil company Petrobras has launched a tender to contract a pair of helicopters to provide transportation services to support exploration and production activities around Brazil’s continental shelf.

Industry sources told Upstream that Petrobras invited companies including CHC Helicopter, Lider Aviacao, Omni Taxi Aereo and Aeroleo to submit commercial proposals on 21 October.

Petrobras is asking for medium-sized twin-engine helicopters that can transport between 11 and 15 people to enter operation in May 2020 or six months after the signing of the contract.
