Hess has been selling its toy trucks at its gas stations in the US since the 1960s. This year's version is a fire engine (pictured), which has enough sirens and flashing lights to keep most children, and possibly a few adults, amused for weeks after Christmas.
Hess has donated 50,000 of the toy trucks this year to the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots programme, which has been handing out brand new toys to needy children since 1947.
