France’s Technip is understood to be undertaking the conceptual studies for the pair of Belud discoveries and a FEED tender could be issued as early as next week.
Belud was first declared as a hydrocarbon discovery in 2004 and is largely a gas field in Hess-operated Block SB302 off Sabah.
Hess first struck gas with the 2004 Belud South-1 exploration well and a second gas find was detected in the Belud East-1 wildcat drilled in 2009.
