Through the deal, Hi-Crush will get Permian Basin Sand’s 1220-acre frack sand reserve containing more than 55 million tonnes of 100 mesh sand. The reserve lies within 75 miles (120 kilometres) of the Delaware and Midland sub-basins. In addition, Hi-Crush will get rights to purchase additional reserves.
The transaction is Hi-Crush’s largest acquisition to date.
The company plans to build a processing plant on the Permian Basin Sand site capable of producing 3 million tonnes per annum.
