Diamond Offshore could see its semi-submersible drilling Ocean Monarch remain off south-east Australia for an extended period with several operators eyeing the rig for multi-well campaigns.
Cooper Energy managing director David Maxwell confirmed his company was working with ExxonMobil subsidiary Esso and Beach Energy to keep the drilling rig “in the region for as long as possible”, while adding any potential deal was still subject to negotiations.
