Sources said that the award will commit Hilong to complete laying several pipelines running 38.6 kilometres between three production platform over the next few months to allow drilling to start in the second half of this year.
Hilong was a preferred candidate for the job as it has offered an installation timeline that meets CNOOC Ltd’s drilling slot, sources said.
Installation at Pingbei-Huangyan will start on 20 March and is scheduled for completion in mid-May so Hilong can start another pipeline job at the western part of the South China Sea on 20 May.
