Patrick, originally from Scotland but now a nationalised Australian, is no longer mournful.
He is the general manager of a new kid on the floater operations block called Australian FPSO Management (AFM), which has risen from the flames of the old Vanguard Floating Production Systems.
Vanguard sprung to prominence in late 2001 when it was awarded a contract by the Woollybutt joint venture in Australia to provide an FPSO for the Woollybutt oilfield.
