Chinese towngas distributor Beijing Gas is expected to gain government approval next month to build liquefied natural gas import facilities in the coastal city of Tianjin, writes Xu Yihe.
A company official told Upstream at an industry gathering in Beijing this week that, assuming the National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC) endorses the Tianjin LNG terminal project, it will start a tender process to enlist sellers for supply about 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG for a minimum of 10 years.
