HRT since has launched an aggressive wildcatting campaign in the Amazon’s Solimoes basin, promising 65 exploration wells and 52 development wells by 2014.
HRT raised $1.7 billion at its initial public offering, helping to finance a vast seismic programme and follow up drilling in Brazil and Namibia, where it has 12 blocks.
Before the IPO, the company raised $275 million through a private placement with 66 international investors in November 2009.
