The Canada-Newfoundland & Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (CNLOPB) has given the green light for mitigation work to begin at Husky Energy’s White Rose oilfield off eastern Canada in an area that suffered an oil spill late last year.

The CNLOPB approved Husky’s plan to install a replacement flowline connector in the affected pipeline in the South White Rose Extension drill centre, where a mid-November 2018 oil spill occurred.
