The LH34-2-1 probe was drilled by Seadrill’s West Hercules rig to a depth of 3449 metres and tested gas at an equipment-restricted rate of 55 million cubic feet per day.
Husky said this result indicated the well could deliver more than 140 MMcfd.
The find lies 23 kilometres north-east of Liwan 3-1 in a water depth of 1145 metres and in the same block where Husky’s partner is CNOOC Ltd.
