Canadian player Husky Energy has revived engineering work on its delayed West White Rose Extension project off Newfoundland, with strong indications that it will stick with its original concrete gravity base platform-solution.
A development concept based on a GBS wellhead platform was kicked into the long grass in early 2015 due to the oil price crash, with Husky saying then that a subsea tieback to its nearby SeaRose floating production, storage and offloading vessel would also be considered to cut costs.
