Billionaire activist investor Carl Icahn has formally kicked off a proxy fight against Occidental Petroleum which aims to replace four existing directors, change by-laws and establish a strategic review committee.
Icahn's board candidates are John Hofmeister, former president of Shell Oil Company, Alan LeFevre, former finance chief of consumer goods firm Jarden Corp, plus Nicholas Graziano and Andrew Langham, two executives with Icahn’s own investment company.
