Inpex has completed commissioning of the large offshore central processing facility bringing the US$40 billion Ichthys liquefied natural gas project one step closer to first production.
Commissioning of the first LNG train, the floating production, storage and offloading vessel and subsea production systems were completed a few months ago.
The project will start up once final safety verifications are completed, with first cargoes expected to be sent by the end of September, said Inpex.
