A series of dusters in the south-east Barents Sea has failed to dampen the industry’s appetite for exploration in the frontier Arctic play off Norway, with leading independents applying for acreage in the country’s latest licensing round, writes Steve Marshall.

Lundin Norway and Aker BP have disclosed they are among the bidders vying for 48 blocks on offer in the Barents under the Awards in Pre-defined Areas (APA) round launched earlier this year.
