India has launched the third round of its Open Acreage Licensing Programme (OALP 3) — an offering expected to whet the appetite of many domestic players.

Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said this week the round comprises 23 blocks, covering around 32,000 square kilometres.

A total of 18 of the blocks are based on expressions of interest submitted by companies, with the remaining five having coalbed methane as their primary target.
