Sources at the Indian upstream regulator Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) said a joint licensing exercise is being looked at by the Indian government.
“Towards October or November 2013 the first shale gas round along with the tenth Nelp round might take place,” a senior DGH official said. With the change of guard at the Indian petroleum ministry, the talk of a new Nelp round has gained momentum, as India plans to increase its investments in the E&P acreages.
