Indonesia expects to see fewer than 40% of hoped-for exploration wells drilled this year, not least as operators delay work commitments.

Upstream regulator SKK Migas expects to end 2018 with just 41 wells drilled from the 104 outlined in players’ work programmes and budgets.

This would equate to 39% of the proposed target, of which just 15% — 15 wells — were spudded by the end of July.
