The investigation, initially led by the Grampian Police, has now been handed over to the Norwegian authorities, which have appointed a Maritime Commission to carry out the inquiry into the causes of the accident.
The vessel overturned about 140 kilometres west of the Shetlands. Three bodies have been recovered and five others are missing, presumed dead. Fourteen of the 15 were Norwegian nationals and one was Danish.
