InfraStrata is speaking with a clutch of potential offtakers for a proposed floating storage and regasification unit project off north-west England, as it looks to take advantage of an expected shortfall in UK gas supply amid lacklustre domestic shale gas operations.

The UK infrastructure player has already received an expression of interest from one potential offtaker that would take 100% of the proposed 5 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas capacity from the envisaged Meridian FSRU project in the East Irish Sea.
