JAPAN’S Inpex has confirmed it is now looking at a large floating liquefied natural gas solution to exploit its giant Abadi gas field on the Masela production sharing contract off Indonesia.

Inpex and partner Shell are considering a unit capable of producing between 7 million and 7.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG, compared to the 2.5 million tpa phase one FLNG unit already approved by the Indonesian authorities, said sources.
