Inpex has agreed to acquire multiple producing and development shale assets in the Eagle Ford play in southern Texas from San Antonio-based private player GulfTex Energy, which will mark the Japanese company’s debut into the US tight oil business, writes Amanda Battersby.
Inpex is picking up around 13,000 acres for an undisclosed sum. Net production over that acreage was 7600 barrels of oil equivalent per day in January 2019.
