A US Department of Interior official who was behind the Trump administration's efforts to shrink two national monuments to open the areas to energy development has scored a position at BP, according to reports.
The staffer, Downey Magallanes, is joining the UK supermajor's government affairs team, the Washinton Post reported. She previously worked on offshore drilling plans and regulatory reform and oversaw the drive to reduce the size of the Bears Ears (pictured) and Grand Staircase national monuments.
