The new chief executive Michael Hession was most recently an executive of Woodside Petroleum where he headed up the Browse LNG development and had a high-profile role on the Pluto LNG project.
Hession also had big project experience when he was employed by BP including working on the giant Azeri- Chirag-Guneshli development in Azerbaijan, said InterOil.
He replaces InterOil’s founding chief executive Phil Mulacek who retired.
