Oil Search chief executive Peter Botten believes the decision to invest in exploration wells in Papua New Guinea will in part depend on how the next phase of liquefied natural gas development unfolds, writes Russell Searancke.
Botten says PNG currently has “some of the best exploration opportunities that I've ever seen”, but says there is no point spending big money on drilling wells “if you do not believe you can accelerate the development of gas”.
